I am Dr. Porte's friend and he just turned me onto your site. Beautiful photos! I have taken a hawk watching class twice and love to go out birding (by ear). Some of your birds pictured here I've never heard of or have seen. I'm excited to go out again see those you have photographed here. Thank you!

The red tailed hawks noted in your biography returned to the Lake Hodges area for several years. The Oct '07 wildfires devastated much of the San Pasqual Valley, east past the Wild Animal Park and west following the San Dieguito river into Rancho Santa Fe. Since the fire, the hawk activity has been less frequent. It may take nature a couple of years to restore balance.

Jim, it was great meeting you at the bike races today. I didn't realize just how vivd and incredible your wildlife images, beautiful! I sent you a few pictures from the race. I've got more if you were interested in a certain one. I managed to snap off a total of 400 images from the first car to the last, amazing how many pictures you can take sometimes in such a short period of time.

just happened upon your exhibit in the SMUD lobby - AMAZING! I really have never seen such lovely, painterly bird photographs. The light, texture, detail all seem to display your real love of these beautiful gifts of God! I could just look at them again and again. Have you had a book of your photos published? That is something I would buy - wish I could buy about 5 of your works of art! Thanks!
